It’s rare that I share a DJ set although I love to do them occasionally. The large majority of sets that I share while on tour are Live Sets. What’s the difference between a live set and a DJ set you ask? Well it depends on who you ask, but for me when I do a live set I am playing with loops. I am not playing fully produced tracks and I have much more freedom to improvise with the flow of the moment. It’s my highest passion, however I also love these DJ sets where I get to bring in the energy of other producers that inspire me. It’s super fun to get a bit more dynamic by incorporating a larger range of energy. I still improvise the flow through the selection of tracks done as the energy is unfolding and I also like to incorporate live instrumentation and collaboration. This particular set was a very special one as it was the first set I played after finishing my two month long personal retreat at my home in Guatemala. I brought a few of my own new tracks that I had never shared before as well as a bunch of new music that I had discovered while traveling the world on tour this past summer. The set takes place at the iconic Eagles Nest where everything began for me so the vibe was electric and the people went deep. I hope you can feel the magic.
