This is Steamworx, a Model Engineering channel. Hi all, a bit of a deviation this time around. I have been asked by a subscriber to make a tool for them and in doing so I need to make a ball handle. Simple enough if you have the right kit but although I have made at least four ball turning tools, I no longer own one myself. In reality this is a video about making a tool with which to make another tool! I made the first kit years ago, they were the original drawings before Kirk took over. I have cut all the stock as it would have arrived from Hemingway and build the kit exactly to drawings. Hopefully someone else building the kit will find the set ups shown useful in their own endeavours. This can be done in a long weekend (without filming) and is an excellent project for a beginner! As always there is nothing to hide here, mistakes are made from time to time. I don’t re-make things off camera you get to see the finished article warts and all. I hope you approve!
