It has 902 pieces, which includes enough parts to build four figures and the Goliath Tank itself. Destiny players will want to check out this set thanks to the impressive list of interactive features available once built. But with a hefty price the real question is how well the tank would function when built. Well, after an excessive six hour build, which is way too long for 900 pieces, even though the tank is built to open and close, there was no way to really use those features without falling apart. The issues come from an unstable design for the build that relies on connecting eight black bricks onto a board, but only connecting one quarter of each brick, while leaving the rest hanging out, waiting for other pieces to be connected. That said, the first half of the build went by fast, and the included instructions did a great job of distinguishing between the different - yet similar - colors, while using color coding to show where the different pieces are supposed to connect. In fact the first half of the build went so well that it took slightly less than two hours, leaving an estimated, manageable four-hour estimate to complete the set. That all changes when the instructions have you flop the tank over to continue building. From that point on, a lot of time was spent rebuilding sections that came loose and fell off. This was a huge flaw that led to two extra hours of build time, as well as an inability to actually play with the tank to check out the rotating tank turret and opening cockpit. In fact, these pieces tend to come off when you open and close them. The set is really designed for collectors, and once placed on a shelf, this set should have looked fine, even after the frustrating build. Unfortunately, after a week of sitting undisturbed on a shelf, pieces fell off all by themselves. Of course, there is a chance that this was all user error. Mega Construx sets don't like to stay together, so users should should consider using a rubber mallet on the base. The added pressure may keep the pieces in place. That said, this set looks good when completed, as long as you never touch it again.
