He wasn’t a nuisance. He was just hungry. This winter, we took in an opossum who had been trapped after neighbors complained there were “too many.” The real issue? Large amounts of outdoor cat food attracting wildlife. By the time he arrived, he was severely dehydrated, dangerously thin, and suffering from frostbite on his toes and tail. In this video, we “interview” our recovering patient to share what opossums wish humans understood — about coexistence, feeding wildlife, and the unintended consequences of our actions.
