Yakima Valley was honored as the 6th best place to visit in the fall as a part of USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. Yakima Valley Tourism's John Cooper says the fall events in the area play a large role in the voting, as well as the weather. "I think what sets us apart, of course, is our fall activities that we have here. We've got the fair, we've got the Fresh Hop Ale Festival, we've got a lot of harvest events happening, the wine industry, and the fact that our weather is really great," Cooper said. "It's warm in the daytime and cool at night, and I think all the outdoor activities that go along with that just made us percolate to the top."
