Episode 4 of our Gears of War 2 co-op playthrough kicks off with Pokémon hype as we talk about the FireRed and LeafGreen remaster dropping on the Nintendo eShop — something I genuinely predicted. Back in the Gears of War 2 campaign, we’re still hunting that one missing collectible from the last episode, and it’s starting to feel like a personal attack from the developers. While we search every corner of the map, Daniel dives into PSP nostalgia, reminiscing about playing InviZimals and using the PSP camera like it was futuristic tech. That somehow leads into a Glasgow field trip story involving Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo, because our conversations never stay on track for long. We finally encounter the rockworms in Gears of War 2 and are completely baffled by them — the design, the chaos, the sheer randomness of it all. On top of that, we at last give our full, honest thoughts on Juwanna Mann after mentioning it way back in our original Gears of War series. You might be surprised by the verdict. There’s also a surprisingly deep debate about whether we’d actually have what it takes to kill another human in a life-or-death scenario, which is a wild conversation to have while chainsawing Locust. We close out the episode with a snack break and more ridiculous banter that perfectly sums up this series.
