He was also the Principal Investigator on the National Mental Health Survey 2016. Currently he is an Adjunct Professor at St John’s Medical College, Bangalore & KMC, Manipal Dr Sudarshan R Kottai is an Assistant Professor at the department of humanities and social sciences, IIT Palakkad. He has contributed an important critique of the survey and has been a vocal proponent of approaching mental health as an ethical and political problem. Dr Prateeksha Sharma, who is a psychotherapist-musicologist and is the founder of Bright Side Family Counseling Center. Her counselling practice is informed both by her experiential perspectives and recovery research at the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (Nalsar), Hyderabad.
