Gordon College 2010 Graduate Commencement Ceremony

A leader from the Ipswich Public Schools addressed the Gordon College graduate classes of 2010 during the 118th graduation ceremonies. Gerald J. Dolan Jr., director of fine arts for the Ipswich Public Schools and summer instructor for Gordon's Master of Music Education program, addressed the 51 graduate students in education Saturday, May 15, at 4 p.m. on the Gordon College Quad with a reception following in the Ken Olsen Science Center. "We are honored to have these gifted and influential leaders address our students," said President R. Judson Carlberg. "Each is highly respected in his or her field and will undoubtedly inspire our graduates as they transition into the next phases of their careers." Dolan conducts the Ipswich high school concert band, pep band and jazz ensemble, and teaches high school courses in jazz improvisation, computer music composition, and music theory. He is currently the music director of the North Shore Youth Symphony Orchestra (NYSO), conductor of the NYSO Wind Ensemble, and served as a conductor of the United States Youth Wind Ensemble during its 2001 summer tour.
