-------------------------------------- This is a record of our third day traveling in Taiwan. We took a train from Taipei to Shifen and Jiufen. Both are small towns that once thrived due to the mining industry, and today they’ve become wonderful places to experience the charm of old Taiwan. Shifen Old Street runs along the Pingxi railway line, where you can witness trains passing right through the narrow street. The street is lined with sky lantern shops, where people from all over the world write their wishes in various languages and release the lanterns into the sky. From afar, the floating lanterns twinkle like stars, drifting gently through the air. Jiufen Old Street is perched on the hillside, offering views of the Pacific Ocean. The area is packed with delicious street food. Our favorite was the mixed fish ball soup and special dry noodles from Zhang Ji Fish Ball Shop. Jiufen was one of the main filming locations for Hou Hsiao-hsien’s *City of Sadness*, and the film has drawn visitors from all over the world. To prepare for this trip, we rewatched the movie and, with help from an elderly local, even found the filming location of the "Korean House" featured in the film. Having loved Hou Hsiao-hsien's films for over a decade, it was our first time stepping into one of his cinematic settings. Even now, as we edit the video, we’re still overwhelmed with emotion. We had originally planned to climb Mount Keelung for a panoramic view of Jiufen, but had to turn back halfway due to slippery conditions from the rain. Still, looking out from the mountainside in a misty drizzle had its own quiet charm. I loved watching the long, winding road across the hill, with buses crawling along while cicadas chirped softly in the background — a peaceful and healing scene. Tomorrow, we’ll be visiting the National Palace Museum and Taipei 101, to experience the most traditional and most modern sides of Taipei. See you all tomorrow! -------------------------------------- ★时间戳(Time Stamps): 00:00 视频开始 / Video begins 00:52 搭火车去瑞芳 / Taking the train to Ruifang 03:00 热心的台湾人 / Encountering warm-hearted Taiwanese locals 03:49 去十分 / Heading to Shifen 05:39 放天灯 / Releasing sky lanterns 07:56 去九份 / Traveling to Jiufen 09:35 寻找《悲情城市》场景 / Searching for City of Sadness filming locations 11:26 登鸡笼山 / Hiking Mount Keelung 15:39 吃张记鱼丸 / Eating at Zhang Ji Fish Ball Shop 16:38 离开九份回台北 / Leaving Jiufen and returning to Taipei #台湾 #taiwan #taiwantravel #台北 #taipei #taipeitravel #九份 #jiufen #十分 #shifen #瑞芳 #ruifang
