Kanthapuram A.P AboobackerMusliyar, the general secretary of Association of Muslim Scholars of India, has said that ,in recent times, it has been a growing trend among the rulers of some nations to show a discriminative attitude to their citizens and unleash various kinds of assault towards them. It is high time that the government send their blindness and open their eyes to this rule of injustice that is often perpetrated by their own rules. He was delivering his keynote address at the international Milad Conference conducted by Jamia Markaz in Calicut, Kerala, India. He demanded that the central government of India should appoint a commission to critically re-examine the cases where the controversial legislation by the central authority of India, namely Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act(UAPA) is reported to have been imposed on the innocent civilians under the guise of national security. He added that the freedom of religion, the freedom to believe and practice one’s faith is one of the cornerstones in the constitution of India. Any attempt to curb this fundamental freedom should be fought by all means.The right to eat what one wants to eat is also attacked recently. Developments such as this one is not in the direction of any developmental agenda.‘We would oppose with tooth and nail every attempt to deny the citizens, comprising large sections of multi-faith communities, the right to live according to their religious convictions and ideals, and to carry out a nation-wide system of unified civil code. He noted that the demonetization has pushed the vulnerable and marginalized sections of the country into several hardships and it has also caused the national economy to decline to its lowest point of growth in the recent history. What the humanity at present witness in countries like Syria and Myanmar is a kind of state sponsored pogrom.The responses of AngSaanSuki, a Nobel laureate and national leader of Myanmar, are alarming. She appears to keep mum in cases of massive genocide and ethnic cleansing of Muslims in its state of Rakhane and set the militants to suppress them as they wish. This is a common pattern found in many other parts of the world as well where the rulers have succumbed to injustice when the most vulnerable of their civilians are brutalized. Sunni movement in Kerala and Jamia Markaz always try to address various needs of people from all walks of life. Throughout the past, in our activities, we have largely concerned ourselves with the issues faced by the most vulnerable among st us such as widows, orphans and the destitute.The activities that Jamia Markaz has initiated across the country, through its humanitarian branches are mainly aimed to uplift the standard of these people’s lives. What still inspire us to expand these religious, cultural, social and humanitarian activities are the messages and teachings of Prophet Muhammad SWA. A host of Muslim Scholars representing different countries and international associations attended the conference. Seyyid Ali Bafaqih Thangal led the prayer. C. Muhammed Faizy, the General Manager of Jamia Markaz gave the welcome address. Abdul Khader Musliyar, Ponmala inaugurated the Conference. E. Sulyman Musliyar, the President of Samastha was in the chair. The mission of conference was presented by Dr A.P Abdul Hakeem Azhari, the director of Jamia Markaz. Dr K.T Jaleel, the minister of Kerala for local governance and minority affairs, Abdurahiman Saqafi, Perode, State president of Sunni Yuvajana Sangham( An association of Muslim Youths in India), and N.V Abdul razaq Saqafi, the state president of Sunni Students federation were also among the speakers.
