In today’s diagnostic episode, we take a look at a Skoda Fabia that came in with a simple-sounding complaint: the heater blower fan isn’t working. The customer mentioned a stop/start fault too, but nothing about any airbag issues… or so we thought. Once we got into the job, things got interesting. The blower fan runs for a second, then cuts out. All the doors unlock as soon as the ignition is switched on. We scan the whole car — and we can’t communicate with the airbag control module at all. Oh, and the airbag warning light is on. That combination of symptoms points us toward a potential airbag module failure — something that can shut down other systems like the blower motor and even trigger door unlocking as a safety strategy after an impact. But here’s the twist… Partway through filming, we realised we hadn’t asked the customer for the full story. We assumed it was just a blower fault and didn’t run our usual front-to-back process before diving in. The very process we tell you to use to avoid exactly this situation. This week’s episode is a reminder that good diagnostics isn’t just about tools and tests — it’s about process, procedure, and gathering all the information before touching a single connector. 📍 RMS Diagnostics — real-world diagnostics, no guessing, just testing. 📺 Subscribe for more real fault-finding stories and automotive diagnostic challenges! #CarDiagnostics #NonStart #CanWeFixIt #AuctionCar #RMSDiagnostics #AutoElectrician #RealWorldDiagnostics 📍 Book your diagnostic: www.rmsdiagnostics.com 📞 Call us: 01304 619580 If this helped you out, please: 👍 Give it a thumbs up 🔔 Subscribe for weekly diagnostic content 📤 Share with fellow mechanics and car enthusiasts #AutoElectrical #AlfaRomeo #Diagnostics #CarRepair #ElectricSeat #RMSDiagnostics #Automotive #FuseSafety #WiringRepair Thanks for watching, and remember - proper diagnosis saves time, money, and potentially lives!
