‘Working to make farmers Atmanirbhar’: PM Modi amid protests against farm laws

Prime Minister Modi addressed the centenary celebration of the Chauri Chaura incident via video conferencing. PM Modi said that farmers played an important role in the freedom struggle and added that his government had been working to ensure that farmers become Atmanirbhar. PM MOdi lauded the farmers for their service during the pandemic and added that his government is committed to working for their benefit. PM Modi’s remarks come as farmers have been protesting against the Centre’s three farm laws for over two months now.
