Providing 362lb/ft of torque at 3750rpm and 318bhp this has a claimed top speed of 158mph (limited) and 0-60mph acceleration time of 6.5 seconds and amounted to a 17% increase in torque and 11% more power than the 5.3 litre engine. Re-engineered crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods, cylinder liners and new sequential digital ignition engine management system made by Zytek and derived from the Group C World Sportscar Jaguars are a few noteworthy performance upgrades. The transmission is a special Hydramatic-developed version of the legendary GM 400 automatic gearbox uprated and re-calibrated to match the 6.0 litre engine so changes are crisp and responsive.
