Siobhan on WIN News shaving her head for the World's Greatest Shave!

Siobhan is a 13 year old high school student from Australia who had luscious, waist-length hair until today, when she shaved the lot off. Not because of a teenage rebellious streak, but because she is an awesome human raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation. She was deeply affected by a primary school friend, Grace, who had leukaemia (and thankfully went into remission) and planned for 2 years to take part in the World's Greatest Shave www.worldsgreatestshave.com. She didn't have a hair cut in all that time - she wanted to grow it as long as possible before the day then donate it all to a company that makes wigs for kids who lose their hair during chemotherapy and other illness. On Friday 15th March 2013, her school friends plaited her hair in several small plaits before she took to the World's Greatest Shave podium. In front of the whole school, Grace cut each plait off and then her head was shaved by a hairdresser. It was a beautiful moment - there were tears, big smiles and cheers from the whole crowd.
