A major milestone is complete on the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project! 🚊✨ RTD has officially wrapped up its 86-day reconstruction of the light rail crossing at Kalamath Street and Colfax Avenue right on schedule. Here’s what crews accomplished: 🔧 Rebuilt the entire crossing from the ground up 🚉 Replaced 1,300 feet of track 🔀 Installed 1,100 feet of special trackwork 🚗 Reconstructed one vehicle crossing 🚶‍♀️ Upgraded two pedestrian crossings 💼 Advanced a key piece of RTD’s $152 million investment to modernize aging track and deliver a smoother, more reliable ride This work sets the stage for what’s next: 🛠️ Reconstruction along Colfax Avenue (beginning 2026) 🔄 Additional Downtown Loop track replacements 📐 Continued design work along Welton Street RTD will keep sharing updates as the next phases take shape.
