Safety in Colombia was ALWAYS a topic even before living here. Everyone thinks they know it best even though they have never been to Colombia. If you mention Colombia you usually get the same reaction.."oooh Colombia, but isn't it too dangerous there?" In average, we heard way more negative things about Colombia than positive. But why? The media are surely not helping, only showing the ugly sides of a country makes people believe that this is normal. We never had any safety issues in Colombia but know people that had, what does that mean for you? Is it safe or not? What is safety? How do you know if it is safe or not?... You can just assume if it is safe or not, it depends on your behavior and also what you consider as safe, this really comes down to each person, because safety means something else for everyone. It took us months to make this video, we wanted to ask as many people as possible in order to give you an idea of what to expect of Colombia.
