The final flight of the US National Aerobatic Championships is the Four Minute Free Program. The Four Minute Free is a stand-alone program that doesn't affect the category champions. The performance duration must be between 3 minutes 30 seconds and 4 minutes. The judges are looking for: Technical Merit - Complete use of the flight envelope, use of aerodynamic and gyroscopic forces, execution of individual maneuvers and use of a wide variety of figures flown on different axes and flight paths. Artistic Impression - pleasing and continuous flow of figures, contrasting dynamic and graceful maneuvers, symmetry and use of the performance zone.
