The Austin Mini 25 Special Edition was built to celebrate 25 years of Mini production, the silver anniversary of the Mini. Every Mini 25 was painted silver because of the silver anniversary with mini 25 decals along each side and across the boot. It was built around a Mk IV saloon with 998A+ engine, a high ratio 4 speed gear box and has 12” Wheels with disk brakes. Only 3511 Mini 25’s were built for the UK and there are only 90 licensed as of June this year! So a very rare model. Our example was fully restored in 2019 at a cost of £10250. This included lots of new metal such as wings, bonnet, front valance, A panels, floors and rear valance. He was then taken back to bare metal and treated to a fresh paint job in its original silver leaf paint. This included the subframes being shot blasted, restored & re painted. The underside was also wax and oiled at this time. A few choice upgrades were then chosen such as 12 inch JBW mini lites and a chrome grill. Everything else remains original. New old stock MINI 25 decals were sourced and fitted. Under the bonnet you'll find the original 998, this has travelled 78325 miles, when removed for the restoration it was stripped and checked and then rebuilt including many new parts including valve stem oil seals. The gearbox had the same treatment including a new clutch, master cylinder & slave cylinder. This Mini drives as like new, it's remarkable. All the running gear was either refurbished or replaced with new including brand new shocks. More recently the Mini's just had a full service. All of this work has been carried out by a Mini specialist. A nice exhaust system gives off a lovely rasp. Internally is where you can feel the 25th anniversary edition extras, the perfect grey velour seats with red piping and storage pockets are so comfy, matching door cards with door pockets, red seat belts, stunning brand new red carpets, 4 dial dash including speedo, fuel & temperature gauge along with a rev counter. As with most of our Mini's he has an upgraded leather steering wheel. Also having total sound deadening quietens it all down.
