This 18 minute video was captured from a 45 minute Power Point slide show that automatically moves to the next slide slide after several seconds depending on how much text there is to read. It has been speeded up to reduce viewing time to 18 minutes. If more time is needed to read the text in this video use YouTube 'Settings' to slow it down as needed. I was a 20 year old U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook Helicopter pilot in Vietnam in late 1968 and all of 1969, based in Phu Bai, I Corp Vietnam. I flew for the 'Pachyderms' of A Co. 159th ASHB in the 101st Airborne Division. This video was captured from a Power Point slide show I made in 2006 for the 101st Division reunion in Minneapolis, MN. Included are many pictures taken by me and taken by others in the three Chinook Companies that I downloaded on-line. I tried to give photo credits to all of the pix. There are some pretty neat photos that give a feel of life in a Chinook company back then. MILTECH as recently released a wonderful version of the CH-47D for the MSFS 2020 flight simulator. MSFS 2020 user 'Flak' has created a very nice Livery paintjob depicting the markings of the 'Pachyderm' Chinooks that I flew in RVN. The new CH-47 sim model has created a renewed interest in the Chinook. My old Power Point show should be interesting to some folks.
