This will be my 1,500 subscriber special, just like my 1,000 special a year ago. On September 9th 2017, Canadian National ran their annual Family Day event at Symington Yard, which includes a special passenger train for eligible people to ride, and any railfan to capture! This years train consisted of two GE locomotives, and 5 cabooses. One was CN, but the other 4 came from local railways in Winnipeg: Prairie Dog Central BNSF Manitoba Cando Rail Services/Central Manitoba Railway Greater Winnipeg Water District They operated on the CN St Boniface Lead between Symington Yard and the Seine River. The day before, I caught CN 4797 pull the BNSF Manitoba caboose out of Fort Rouge Yard and through the CN St Boniface Lead. Enjoy! PS: CCGX 200001, a caboose featured in a few videos on the CEMR, recently repainted and is on this train, has been retired from service, and will be converted into an office at the CEMR North Transcona Yard, and stuck on a short piece of track connected to nothing. Also note how unhealthy the bell on the first crossing sounds. If it continues like that or worse, it's time may run out soon.
