GTI Caddis, Holsinger's Guide Service, Episode 564

The GTI Caddis is Lance Egan's "Go To Imitation" pattern for the Hydropsyche Caddis. This is a very common caddis species in my area and in turn works very well for me. When preparing for tying one of my videos I always tie up a half dozen or so of the pattern so I can tie it smoothly on video in one take. I took those flies out fishing with me that afternoon and they ended up being the top producing fly for the day. If you're in a heavy caddis area like I am you should definitely have these in your box. They make take a little bit of practice for a beginning tier but the results will be worth it.
