For the record, please note: the rioting that occurred following the rally, did not involve the vast majority of men and women there earlier in the day. These individuals and families came as peaceful, law-abiding citizens. I concur with Family Research Council's Executive Vice President. Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William G. Boykin who said, "I condemn absolutely no one at that rally who remained peaceful," he said. "I condemn everybody who went inside the Capitol and took part in the violence that occurred, because that was wrong. It was not only a breach of the Capitol, but a breach of the public trust." We attended numerous rallies for Trump in the past 5 years, all peaceful, all orderly, we were on our guard but felt it was important we be there to show our support for the President.I created this short video to document what we and countless others saw at the Ellipse, in front of the White House and later as we walked down Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenues in Washington DC on Wednesday, January 6, 2020. Everything in this video was shot prior to the reported riots that took place later at the Capitol. We (and the majority of people there) had no knowledge of the unfolding events until after we walked the 2 miles to our car and were driving home that day. We left the rally around 12:45pm (before Trump had finished speaking), walking to the Capitol on our way to our car. We arrived about 30 minutes later and took a couple photos near the Peace Monument. Only then, as we were leaving, we heard 2 large BANGS and saw emergency vehicles approaching while overhearing calls to police back up. The last photo is of the street that runs parallel to the Capitol, it shows the activation of in-ground pop-up traffic barriers to block access. The time was 1:23pm. For the record, we do not endorse violence of any kind and were surprised to learn of the forced entry and terrible display on the part of those who breached the Capitol that day.
