This video is in two parts. X has no parts equipped but makes use of the Z-sabre when it is necessary. This is the infamous stage. It's the one most people cite when they rant about X6 being a joke entry in the series, and I can't very soundly refute it. These red hoops are completely unnecessary and a gross example of lazy difficulty. They have simplistic patterns and yet last long enough for you to mess up through sheer lack of interest. They are placed in situations where exhaustive trial and error gameplay is the only way to pass them alive. Worse, they practically mock you for trying to play the game the way Capcom KNOWS most veteran fans of the series want to play. I'll keep quiet about most of the stage as it fairly basic and boring. Barring a rather cruel stretch of the only recognizable 'stage' mechanics in the level, the real sticker is the hoop fight in the rising lava. This... is lunacy. It goes far beyond asking you to be good enough a player to pass it. It is layered with moments where the OBVIOUS solution is to die, repeatedly mess up, and realize the one specific method its designers intended you to use. The impossible to reach bottom lights aren't refreshingly hard, they're bad design hard. Just a hodgepodge of cheap death you wouldn't have avoided without clairvoyance. I use the Z Sabre on this beast because I've not been able to ascertain how it might be possible to do with the X-buster. Theoretically there should be an optimal method for managing the bottom leftmost light before hitting the absurdly useless top of the screen, but I didn't have the wherewithal to extract it. This also, sadly, isn't the worst the game has to offer. Just the most infuriating. Look for Gate's Lab in the future. Track used: Dream Theatre - Stream of Insrumentals
