Selected moments of the Bob Cary Orchestra live in concert. Fronted by the legendary bandleader and trumpeter Bob Cary, this 18-piece orchestra is fast becoming renowned as Toronto's only "New-York-Style" Big Band. Bob Cary was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1940, and graduated from the Berklee School of Music. He played lead trumpet with The (New) Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and toured extensively with that band throughout the late '70s and early '80s, later working steadily as a sideman and bandleader for a number of big-name acts and on major cruise lines. He relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1972. The Bob Cary Orchestra also features two acclaimed and popular vocalists; Vincent Wolfe, whose voice has been compared to Mel Tormé and Chet Baker by none other than Manhattan Transfer founding member Laurel Massé. Along with his many jazz and cabaret dates, Wolfe recently wrapped up a year-long stint as band singer on the famed Cunard ocean liners. Sharing the vocal spotlight is the lovely and well-known Debi Sander Walker, who, aside from her many solo concert appearances, toured the US and Canada starring in the hit stage musical-bios "Patsy" and "A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline". Trumpets: Dave Johnston, Jeff Fong, Noel Methven, Carlo Vanini Trombones: John Graham, John Wilson, Henry Soltys, Jim Beck Saxophones: Julian Stewart, Mike Lewis, Paul Mifsud, Doug Pipher, Kurt Lund Rhythm Section: Ron Johnston (bass), Lorne Hamilton (drums), Ken Jones (piano) and Sean Bray (guitar).
