thoughts- *disclaimer: these switches were sent over by unikeys to review, they did not review or have any input on the video or its contents. these thoughts are all my own. TLDR- a good clacky light tactile, a bit of leaf noise but not noticeable while typing. INTRO the hmx yamatake is designed by xllab, the same designer as clouds and yogurts both very well regarded switches. the yamatake features hmxs new molds with a pom stem(3.5mm travel), pc top housing, pa2 bottom housing and 22mm 53g spring. xllab has put out some great switches so was excited to try these out. also got to these kinda late and have been hearing they were pretty good XD. SOUND the sound on the yamatake is your classic hmx clack- they're bright and high pitch but no too harsh or ear piercing. they are fuller than the k01 but thinner than valerian. k01 are the quietest of the 3 with yamatake and valerian being very close- yamatake is just a hair louder. the sound is very satisfying though, super crisp. there's no scratch or weird noises that come through while typing. the spring weight is pretty cozy too, these have the lightest spring of the ones ive tried so far. QUALITY / FEEL the light tactiles from hmx have all been great honestly, these feel great to type on. there's a bit of ping if you listen to it up to your ear but while typing none of that comes through. they are a listed as shorter travel than k01 but actually come out about the same. for my cheap caliper from amazon im getting around 3.6mm for both k01 and yamatake. FINAL THOUGHTS cant go wrong with these guys. if youre looking for loud and clacky light tactile with that classic hmx sound signature these are a solid choice. very clean sound and typing experience. I do think valerian sound better to me and I prefer them (unbiased ofc) but if you dont like scratch, yamatake will be a solid choice, super smooth, zero audible scratch while typing. they are also the loudest of the 3 and have the lightest springs. if you're looking for a super smooth and clacky light tactile thats great out of the box, you cant go wrong with these guys. thanks for stopping by and I hope you found the video and review helpful! 💙 If you’re interested in these switches and would like to check them out, please consider using the links and code below, it helps support the channel- (code mori for 7% off) hmx yamatake - https://unikeyboards.com/products/hmx... build neo65 Cu (gasket mount, hotswap, copper bottom, bumpon feet) pp plate no foam hmx yamatake knight v4 kkb col hmx yamatake specs type: light tactile stem: pom top: pc bottom: pa-2 spring: 22mm 53g travel: 3.5mm molds: new designer: xllab timestamps 0:00 typing 0:39 mods 1:05 wingtree yuying 1:12 hmx firecracker 1:20 hmx k01 1:28 hmx valerian 1:36 hmx yamatake our discord server: / discord
