She began her career singing at open mic nights and acting in school plays. She is famous for her unconventionality and provocative work, as well as visual experimentations. As Grammy and Oscar winning artist she uses her platform to talk openly about her PTSD from rape, body shaming, chronic pain, self-care and more, in hopes that it inspires her fans to seek the support they need. Lady Gaga and her mother founded the "Born This Way Foundation" which aims to create a braver and kinder world for young people and to provide opportunities to improve their local communities. "I want women and men to feel empowered by a deeper and more psychotic part of themselves. The part they're always trying desperately to hide.
