He has learnt under the guidance of Ustad Zia Farid Uddin Dagar Saheb of Bhopal. His work as a film singer started with the title song and some back vocals for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Devdas",award-winning film "Sawaariya" . Other films include EMI, Heroes, Sahib Biwi our Gangster.
