Live at the John Waldron Arts Center in Bloomington, Indiana, October 2, 1998. A benefit for WFHB and recorded by Bloomington Cable Access Television (all rights). Two local bands at that time, Faun Tumnus and Gyrogenics Sextet, combined to recreate the first half of one of Miles most high energy electric era performances--March 30, 1974 at Carnegie Hall--released as Dark Magus. TURN IT UP. This was a tricky one-off show for the excellent sound people to keep up with, but this is loud music. Crank it. Also, this is about the 6th attempt to keep the audio and video in sync once it is uploaded and--it is what it is at this point. Go with it. (It seems to depend on your connection and the buffer status...) Cornelius Boots: leader, robot bass clarinet, soprano sax, cowbell Kyle Quass: trumpet Nate Johnson: electric tenor sax, percussion Seth Benjamin Bortolotti: electric guitar Tadas Paegle: electric guitar Adam Davis: electric guitar Jeff Hiatt: electric bass Jason Slota: drums Pete Wilhoit: drums Christopher Austin: congas *Featured Jazz Skull art series by Joel Washington.*
