Pau Gasol Full Series Highlights 2009 NBA Finals LA Lakers vs Orlando Magic 18.6 ppg, 9.2 reb, 2.2 ast, 1.8 blk / 60% fg, 78% ft Led by Kobe Bryant & Pau Gasol, the 2008-09 Lakers finished the regular season atop the Western Conference with 65 wins. 28 year-old Pau made his second All-Star game and received his first All-NBA selection, voted 3rd team. Through the first three rounds of the playoffs, Gasol posted 18.2p and 11.3r on 57% in 18 games. The Finals presented Pau with perhaps his toughest matchup of the postseason in Dwight Howard. Along with 7’0 Andrew Bynum, the Lakers’ bigs were able to hold Howard to just over 15 ppg, down significantly from his 20.6p season and 21.7p eastern conference playoffs averages. Pau put up 18.6 ppg in the 5 game series win over Orlando, able to avenge his mediocre and “soft” performance against the Celtics a year prior.
