Winter weather caused a series of accidents along I-196 near Saugatuck Monday morning, including a major truck crash. The first calls came in at 6:30 a.m. when high winds and icy conditions created low visibility for drivers, according to Saugatuck Fire Chief Greg Janik. At Mile Marker 39, a semi-truck crashed through the barrier of a bridge in the northbound lanes of I-196, falling onto Old Allegan Road in Saugatuck.
