MHP Class 64 Documentary

MHP Cadet Class 64 started on December 1, 2019, with 54 Cadets. Throughout the school, Cadets were instructed in various subjects to include Constitutional Law, Accident Reconstruction, Driving, Firearms, Field Sobriety, Defensive Tactics, report writing and more throughout the 22 weeks of training. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, training for Class 64 had to be restructured and was completed through online courses in order to meet all necessary requirements. The traditional graduation ceremony which usually includes friends, family and numerous dignitaries was replaced by a swearing in ceremony with a limited attendance due to the pandemic. Keynote Speaker Governor Tate Reeves and Mississippi Supreme Court Judge James Kitchens who conducted the swearing in ceremony were the only non MS DPS personnel who were in attendance. These Troopers will now go through the Field Training program before being released to patrol the state on their own.
