In 1998, British ex-paratrooper Karl Bushby set out from Punta Arenas, Chile, with a bold mission to walk every step of the way around the world in one continuous, unbroken path. For nearly 27 years, he has crossed continents, braved extreme climates, navigated political borders, and even swum 179 miles across the Caspian Sea, all without using motorized transport. From South America’s rugged mountains to North America’s highways, from the frozen Bering Strait to the deserts of Central Asia, Karl’s Goliath Expedition has faced countless obstacles visa bans, financial crises, the COVID-19 pandemic yet he has never broken his route.Now, with less than 2,000 miles left, Karl is on the final stretch back to his hometown of Hull, England.
