A look at the fleischmann track i use , with the fleischmann express points a train cannot be driven through closed point blades in the reverse direction due to the floating electric frogs, but all other fleischmann points a train can drive through closed point baldes in the reverse direction without derailing or shorting in case you forget to close the blades. Aslo all fleischmann points are thinking points and can shut off power in the deiection you choose when opening & closeing the point , the point motors can be fitted under the baseboard or on top in ,the rail joiners are tension loaded which give fantastic control over the entire layout , i only have around 4 power feeds for my system & is falutless power control for all areas ot the layout ,amazeing i think. Beware RP25 wheel sets do not work very well on fleischmann points when switching tracks.
