A New England native, Michael attended Hofstra University, where he graduated summa cum laude. While at Hofstra, he interned at Fox News, CNN, News 12 Long Island, and SiriusXM. As a journalist for WRHU-FM, the university’s radio station, Michael received an ‘Excellence in Broadcasting’ award from the New York State Broadcasters Association for his show analyzing the impact of the April 2022 New York City Subway attack. In addition, he was named the ‘Best College Radio Reporter’ by the Press Club of Long Island. Having spent years on the political beat, Michael has reported on the 2024 U.S. presidential election, the Texas redistricting debate, and the Dobbs decision. In 2025, he was honored by the Texas Association of Broadcasters for his storytelling about the U.S. Senate contest in the Lone Star State and the potential impact of President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs on East Texas farmers. Among the people he has interviewed are Senator Ted Cruz, former Representative Beto O’Rourke, and Congressman George Santos, who garnered national attention when he was expelled from the House of Representatives. Michael has gained widespread respect for his dedication to excellence and leadership skills. His biggest hope is that by reporting on issues important to the community, he can provide a voice to those who feel left behind. Headshot photo by Doug Hyde
