Music from the traditional repertoire of Hindu chants, vocals by the Juggy Gill group, esraj by Sapna Udara, sitar by Mahesh P. This is a religious text found in the Rig Veda, and is a call for the drum and Indra's blessings to invigorate warriors against an enemy host. Indra is a Hindu deity, king of the devas and master of thunder. The music uses Indian instrumentation such as the tablas, frame drums, a sitar and an esraj, as well as a dilruba. The rhythmic structure of the song is an example of the complex, asymmetrical time signatures and rhythmic patterns found in Indian music. Lyrics in Sanskrit: आ क्र॑न्दय॒ बल॒मोजो॑ न॒ आ धा॒ निः ष्ट॑निहि दुरि॒ता बाध॑मानः । अप॑ प्रोथ दुन्दुभे दु॒च्छुना॑ इ॒त इन्द्र॑स्य मु॒ष्टिर॑सि वी॒ळय॑स्व ॥ आ क्रन्दय बलमोजो न आ धा निः ष्टनिहि दुरिता बाधमानः । अप प्रोथ दुन्दुभे दुच्छुना इत इन्द्रस्य मुष्टिरसि वीळयस्व ॥ ā krandaya balam ojo na ā dhā niḥ ṣṭanihi duritā bādhamānaḥ | apa protha dundubhe ducchunā ita indrasya muṣṭir asi vīḻayasva || Translation: Sound loud against the (hostile) host; animate our prowess; thunder aloud, terrifying the evil-minded; rapid, drum, those whose delight is to harm us; you are the fist of Indra; inspire us with fierceness.
