https://www.sageindustrial.com/ In this video, we will be going over the basics of how Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) works and a comparison to AirROS surface and air purifiers that create ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) Below is the transcript of the video: Hi, my name is Sharla and I'm here today with Brian from AirROS by Sage industrial. And we get ask a lot of questions. And one question that we want to address today is what is the difference between PCO and AirROS? Okay. So PCO Technobased on UV technology. So it has a UV bulb that the core of the device, and then they'll use a surface that's treated with titanium dioxide, or sometimes they add other elements into that that creates a catalyst for the UV light. So UV light is on if it reflects off of that surface, which acts as a catalyst, which creates hydroxyl radicals, primarily some other minor ROS at times. And so what it's doing is it's combining both technologies, UV technology with the kill, anything going by the ball gets killed as well as adding some hydroxyl radicals to get around the outer distances of the ball board of the kill rate is not as good. So that type of technology is designed mostly for an induct application. So you're putting that into a enclosed space where, you know, most of the air is going by the bulb or through the catalyst and through the hydroxyl radicals. Now, since hydroxyl radicals don't live very long, it goes down the duct somewhat, but then it dies off. Our technology is different. If we were to introduce our system into a duct the air going through our unit is bombarded with a little bit of UV. We don't use a UV bolt. So we're using a non-thermal plasma. So high voltage electricity creates this plasma that then separates the air into hydroxyl radicals, similar to the PCO technology, but we're also creating ozone the dry hydrogen peroxide. So a gas-based hydrogen peroxide and a lot of other highly reactive oxygen species. That's what ROS is for the reactive oxygen. And that is now treating all the air that goes through the duct by our output, even though our device, it may not be in the duct. It could be just the output of our device into the duct. So all the air in the duct is being cleaned, but everywhere it goes into the environment now is getting sanitized with our ROS because ours lasts longer than a hydroxyl radical alone. So now we're getting into the environment, touching doorknobs, handles walls, ceilings, everything that the air is exposed to surface wise. So the main difference is both are generating ROS. So the hydroxyl radicals, however one is not treating the surfaces because it doesn't live long enough to reach the surfaces and an artist does. So they're, they're good in duct. PCO technology is a good induct tech technology, and some people that have had that can still add our system into it and still end up with the benefits of the surface, But it's not required.
