Date taken: 25/12/2024 Christmas Day I was in Shanghai for a year-end vacation from 19 Dec 2024 till 30 Dec 2024, and got around the city by the extensive metro system. Here is a ride onboard Line 4 (L4) a circle line of the Shanghai Metro. L4 operates in two loops: An inner clockwise loop from Yishan Road (宜山路) via Hongqiao Road (虹桥路), Hailun Road (海伦路) and Century Avenue (世纪大道), and an outer anti-clockwise loop in the opposite direction from Century Avenue via Hailun Road, Hongqiao Road and Yishan Road. L4 has a shared section with the Line 3 between Hongqiao Road (虹桥路) and Baoshan Road (宝山路) stations, hence it will be quite a sight seeing trains of 2 lines sharing the same tracks and calling at the same platforms. This is a L4 Shanghai-Alstom (SATCO) Metropolis 04A02 train, Set 0436, on the Anti-clockwise/Outer Loop from Hailun Road (海伦路) to Shanghai Indoor Stadium (上海体育馆). This train model was purchased to increase capacity along both L3 and L4 as ridership increases. During this trip, I rode on 5 of the 18 metro lines - Lines 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10.
