Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is ranked 5th nationally in US News and World Report’s list of top children’s hospitals. This recognized excellence in patient care would be impossible without the intimate relationship shared with our research enterprise. The Saban Research Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles comprises a broad range research efforts – from basic or discovery science all the way to patient studies and clinical trials. Research is the backbone for innovation in health care, but the relationship is reciprocal. Our scientists, doctors, and nurses translate their expertise in conditions facing our patients into models to further explore in the laboratories. Together, research and clinical arms of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles work to accelerate life changing discoveries. Our research enterprise continues to evolve and forge ahead amongst the leading pediatric research institutions in the United States. Recently, leadership and researchers worked together to develop the Research Enterprise Strategic Plan. As part of the plan, the vast breadth of research conducted at CHLA has been aligned into four inclusive research themes.
