In this exclusive interview, in collaboration with Kinótico, we speak with Pilar Palomero, director of "Los destellos", and actress Patricia López Arnaiz, the film’s star. "Los destellos" is one of four Spanish films competing at this year’s San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF). This marks Pilar Palomero’s second consecutive participation at the festival, following her success with "La maternal", which won the Silver Shell for Best Leading Performance for Carla Quílez in 2022. For Patricia López Arnaiz, it’s a return to the festival where her breakthrough role in "Ane" earned her the Goya Award for Best Leading Actress in 2021. LOS DESTELLOS: Isabel’s life takes an unexpected turn when her daughter, Madalen, asks her to visit Ramón, her ailing ex-husband, whom she hasn’t seen in fifteen years. Despite their shared history, Isabel feels distant from Ramón, a man she now sees as a stranger.
