SUBSCRIBE for new CBC MUSIC videos: http://bit.ly/cbcmusicYT CBC Music producer Dennis Chan was strolling on Queen Street in Toronto several months ago, when he saw a large crowd blocking the sidewalk and heard a soaring voice rise above the din of the street. He walked closer to find musician Jordan Hart strumming his guitar and giving a passionate, charismatic performance to the generous crowd. Buskers are often ignored, but not Jordan Hart; he turns heads and stops traffic. He also signs autographs and poses for selfies with his newly converted fans — which is exactly what happened when he took a break during the performance on Queen Street. CBC Music offered to record one of Hart's busking sessions, and because the weather has been getting colder, we paired up with the folks at the newly revitatalized Union Station in downtown Toronto. The West Wing of Union Station is a beautiful historic space, filled with elevated marble arches and a paned-glass ceiling. Hart and his music partner Emily Schultz set up their gear and performed a captivating set of mostly original music, peppered with a few covers. When you hear Hart's voice, you won't be surprised to know that he recently signed to the same management as Hedley, and has been recording with Carly Rae Jepsen's producer, Ryan Stewart. You can definitely watch for more great things from Hart. Here are four songs from that CBC Music session.
