At the turn of the new millennium, Peter Jackson's epic film "The Lord of the Rings" began to be released, telling the story of a fantastic universe, essentially created from scratch by Professor J.R.R. Tolkien as a new English mythology. In the films, as well as in the books, stories were told and shown not only of ordinary people, but also of semi-mythical spirits, close to the gods—immortal Elves and other various representatives of the European bestiary. The world Tolkien wrote about was created from music, the common song of angels and archangels of Middle-earth. During the adaptation of the fantastic trilogy into film, composer Howard Shore was given the incredibly interesting and complex task of conveying through music the entire spectrum of feelings and emotions that the main characters experience when meeting various peoples of Middle-earth, whether they are the beautiful Elves, the stubborn Dwarves, or the frightening Orcs. Eric Whitacre is an American composer and conductor, best known for his choral music. Eric works in various styles, drawing from ancient composers by meticulously recreating their musical manner in audio recordings, as well as with modern performance formats and immersive, multimedia presentations. His compositional style can be described as "full of shimmering, trembling, shifting harmonies that awaken the ear to a modern yet accessible voice." Whitacre's style is also referred to as "neo-impressionistic." "Lux Aurumque" is a piece based on a Latin poem. In it, dense harmonies are carefully tuned and balanced, creating the effect of shimmering light. In many ways, it resembles the works of Howard Shore, from the cinematic world created by music of angels, which sustains its beauty through the songs of the Elves. __________________________________ The first experimental concert in a new format featuring the Chamber Choir of the Ankara Opera House, where the sounds of a cappella chamber choir and soloists from the opera house will merge with multimedia accompaniment, immersing each concert participant into the depths of the musical world.
