Mesmerizing Meghalaya Ep-1 : Road trip to Cherrapunji - Sohra with new Covid Guidelines

On the first day of our 3 days road trip to Sohra (Cherrapunji), Meghalaya trip we started from Guwahati at around 7:30 am. After crossing Byrnihat, we reached Umling check post where E-Pass, Covid Vaccination certificate and documents of all the tourists entering the state were being verified. Even RT-PCR tests were being performed there for someone who is not fully vaccinated. But we got an utter pleasant surprise, as our car was not stopped at the post, and we were allowed to pass the place without any documentation, although we had our certificates ready. After driving for few more kilometres we stopped at Jiva Veg restaurant in Nongpoh to have quick snacks. Upon resuming our journey we took a hault at the famous & beautiful Umiam lake view point. From there we continued our journey towards Sohra, crossing the busy traffic at Shillong city. At Dympep valley view point, we spent some peaceful time amidst clouds and cool breeze. We also saw people Ziplining there. We then continued towards our next stop, the beautiful Dianthlen falls (in Sohra).
