About 2 months ago, I made a video talking about the government planning to cut funding for public media, which includes both PBS and NPR, and I encouraged my viewers to help out with this situation. ....unfortunately, despite our efforts, Congress has approved federal budget cuts and so PBS and NPR got defunded. And what's worse, earlier this week it was announced that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting would be shutting down as a result of the loss of federal funding. I'm sure a lot of you recognize the CPB for being often shown during the funding credits of many beloved PBS shows. But it's a lot more than just a fancy logo. It is the largest source of funding for public radio, television, and related services. For nearly 58 years, it has been committed to providing funds for quality programming for children, adults, and families alike and serving the American people. But now, PBS has been put in serious risk and now it's even more at risk with the sudden incoming loss of the CPB. So this video is meant to demonstrate just how important the Corporation for Public Broadcasting has been for so many years, way beyond its logo in the funding credits. Thanks for everything, CPB.
