Webinar Panel Discussion of 21 Mai 2021 Tunisian women in scientific research: The realities of the present and the challenges of the future. Myriam CHAABOUNI is the CEO and owner of lgcgenetics lgcgenetics is a private laboratory of medical genetics with clinical and laboratory activity offering prenatal, postnatal and oncogenetics with a very large technical panel (cytogentic, molecular, NGS). From 2004-2010 Myriam CHAABOUNI was Assistant Professor in genetics at the University of medicine and Department of medical genetics, Charles Nicolle Hospital, Tunis. She has created the molecular cytogenetic unit in the department and started FISH on prenatal postnatal and tumoral samples. Also she supervised many thesis, doctoral degrees. And from 2010-2012 was Associate Professor in genetics, during this period she was the head of the molecular cytogenetic unit, with a clinical consultation. she also continued to supervise many thesis, doctoral degrees, collaborated with international universities for research programs (Italy, France, United states of America) Myriam has a Ph.D in genetic and developmental biology from the University PARIS 5, Medical school of Necker in France Title: «Identification of the IRXB Gene Cluster as Candidate Genes in Severe Dysgenesis of the Ocular Anterior Segment”, She graduated from the University of Medicine of Cochin in France and had obtained Molecular biology diploma and from the University of Medicine of Necker in France and had obtained Cytogenetic diploma. Myriam is a Medical Doctor in human genetics from the University of medicine of Tunis and was teaching Human Genetics in the University of medicine of Tunis, Midwife school of Tunis and High institute of nurses of Tunis. Dr Myriam CHAABOUNI was a member of ISCN (International System for human cytogenetic nomenclature) for Africa and Middle East and a Board Member and founder of Special Olympics Tunisia, in charge of health program. Special Olympics is an international organisation dedicated to sports for people with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Myriam CHAABOUNI has contributed to 49 national and international publications
