Fishing on the Point in Desolation Cove

Fishing for Kelp Greenling and Striped Sea Perch was a daily activity. The Kelp Greenling is a very aggressive fish that became my staple food. Sea Perch are a large fish but very timid. I caught most of them by snagging them in the face as they toyed with the bait. Fishing with a line and pole was time critical and highly dependent on the tide and surf conditions. I could only fish during low tide and ran the risk of getting trapped in dangerous areas by the rising tide. Working out that system for active fishing was critical to my ability to remain in Desolation Cove.
