Just as the title suggests, this video compares the Pierre Madenié 1709 publications by Marco Benedetti and Yves Renaud. I think it comes down to which card stock you prefer. I demonstrate how each bend for a shuffle. Also, if you prefer a smooth shine or textured surface. Marco has a list of all his decks and prices, including fees for shipping, on his fb page. Here is what Marco has told me about the difference between his and Yves deck: Hi Marilyn! 😘 About the comment on YT by @qwe1231: Ives made 2 editions/versions of Madenié. Yours is the second edition (2016 on the box) which is restored and cleaned up more than the first. (Personally I prefere the less restored first edition. 😇) For the record, my version is even less restored than Ives's first, which I think accentuated the contrast more than me. More in general, we both had access at the same files, kindly supplied by the museum, so the images MUST be the same. The minimal differences between our versions are limited precisely to the different choices of how much to restore. (And of course the stockpaper).
