Surrounded by vineyards and limestone hills, with its Renaissance castle and Baroque old town, it was a perfect and atmospheric pause on the road toward the Adriatic. The next day, after hours of driving and heavy traffic, we stopped in Ptuj, Slovenia. We climbed up to the castle for a brief walk and a panoramic view before continuing on, already feeling that this small town deserved a longer visit one day. Late in the afternoon, we finally reached our base in the coastal village of Klenovica, Croatia. The view from the terrace, overlooking the sea, stayed with us long after the journey fatigue faded away. The following day we went to the beach, and even though it was a bit crowded, after two days on the road it felt perfect just to slow down and enjoy the sound of the waves. In the afternoon, we explored Senj, considered the oldest town on the Croatian coast. Despite its large harbor, it felt surprisingly calm and untouched by mass tourism. We wandered through its streets, had lunch in a traditional konoba, and walked up toward the iconic Nehaj Fortress, enjoying the views even though the fortress itself was already closed. One cloudy and windy day kept us closer to home. We walked to a small island near Klenovica, accessible on foot when the sea allows. Apart from a lighthouse, rocks, and grass shaped by the wind, there was nothing there — just raw nature and a beautiful view back toward the mainland. Another overcast day took us to Rijeka. Wandering through the streets, past the cathedral, clock towers, fountains, and along the long pier, we realized that this city did not quite resonate with us. A sudden heavy rain ended our plans to visit Trsat Castle, and we returned home knowing that not every place needs to steal your heart. As the days passed, we slowed the pace with shorter trips. We visited a canyon where scenes from the famous Winnetou films were shot, explored the ruins of Kastelina Castle on the island of Vir, and relaxed on the striking Red Beach nearby. We also visited the historic town of Nin, even though this time the memories stayed only with us when technology failed. One of the highlights of the trip was Plitvice Lakes National Park, the most famous national park in Croatia. We chose Trail H, combining upper and lower lakes, wooden walkways, waterfalls, and a peaceful boat ride across Lake Kozjak. Surrounded by turquoise water, lush greenery, and nearly ninety waterfalls, it felt like walking through a living postcard created entirely by nature. On a sunny day, we crossed over to Krk Island, starting with the historic town of Krk. Its compact old town, ancient churches, defensive walls, and crystal-clear water make it an ideal destination, even though the Frankopan Castle was closed that day. Later, we drove to Baška, home to the island’s famous two-kilometer-long beach. Despite the crowds, it remains the most beautiful beach we have visited in Croatia so far. Our final stop on the island was Vrbnik, dramatically perched on a cliff above the Adriatic Sea and known for the narrowest street in the world. And just like that, our Croatian adventure came to an end. We are certain this was not our last visit. Croatia captured us with its landscapes, history, and rhythm of life, and we already know we will return to this part of Europe again. #CroatiaTravel #CroatiaRoadTrip #TravelVlog #CinematicTravel #PlitviceLakes #KrkIsland #BaškaBeach #AdriaticSea #EuropeTravel #SlowTravel #HiddenGems #NatureTravel #TravelFilm #SummerInCroatia Music track: Inspiring People by Aylex, Travelling by Aylex, Feels Like by Eric Lund, Last Summer by Aylex, November by Limujii, Sweet Talks by Limujii, Follow The Sun by Luke Bergs & Waesto, Take Off by Luke Bergs & Waesto, Kindness by Aylex Source: https://freetouse.com/music Free Music Without Copyright (Safe)
