The Prospector and Miner Technician Certificate Program is intended for personnel who are active or would like to be active in prospecting and mining for surface and near-surface minerals, primarily gold. The objective of this program is to give graduates the basic skills for selecting and registering a mineral property and for developing the property, once obtained. The program will emphasize skills for locating profitable ground based on geology, increasing the efficiency of mineral recovery, implementing safe occupational and health practices, and minimizing environmental impact. The program will also prepare graduates to conduct research projects directed at improving mine productivity and reducing environmental impact.
