Hiking to Floe Lake - Kootenay National Park, BC

Floe Lake day hike we did in late August 2024. A couple of things to bear in mind: The lake and the huge Floe Peak in the background look really spectacular but if you want to see it in the best possible light, you have to be there early. You will be looking at the north face of Floe Peak so from around midday, the mountain and part of the lake will be in shade. It's a beautiful hike with really nice views almost all the time but with almost no protection from the sun so it can be quite brutal on a sunny day. Most of the elevation gain is over a relatively short distance towards the end of the hike.
