Today I am back in Khao Yai National Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาใหญ่) and had the opportunity to film a young male elephant at one of the salt licks. It would seem that this elephant picked up some female scent from the salt lick, and this had a profound effect upon him. Elephants possess the largest penis of any land animal - measuring about 1m long, 15cm in diameter, and weighing up to 30kg!!! It is also prehensile and can be used to scratch hard-to-reach places or even serve as a support.
